Itisgreatthatinyourschoollaptops/tabletsareeasilyaccessiblewithina lesson.Usingthemprovidesbest practiseforpupilsindealingwithnewmedia.Ensurethatsafetyissuesarealsodiscussed.

 

Dataprotection

 

It is good that all users are attributed a different password by the system in your school. Remind all schoolmembers nevertowritetheirgivenpassworddownanywhere,certainlynotonastickeronacomputer!Also, ensurethattheAcceptableUsePolicyreminds staffandpupils tokeeptheirpasswords secureandnotsharethemwithothers.

 

It is good that your email system is protected and that you have a policy for the transfer of pupil data in place. Itis importantto ensurethatallnewstaffare briefedaboutthe effectiveprocessesyouhavefortheinstallationofnew software. This will mean that the security of your systems can be maintained and that staff can try out newsoftwareapplicationsthatwillhelpteachingandlearning.

Areallstafffamiliarwiththeprocedure fordealingwithmaterialthatcouldpotentiallybeillegal?Isthereanamedperson from the school senior leadership team who takesoverall responsibility in this  type of case?
